Week
#10 August 19 - 25, 2006
Nevada Wildcats Claw
their way to Championship
at Cooperstown Dreams
Park
The Nevada Wildcats
of Las Vegas, Nevada powered their way to
the Week #10 championship over the
Illinois team known as Full Package 9 to
1. The 17th seeded Wildcats, managed by
Tim Oakley, opened up the game with a hit,
a sacrifice, a hit batsman and then a
three run home run by third baseman Alec
Huff and never fell behind. The pitching
of right hander Kenny Oakley was superb.
Oakley faced 26 Illinois batters and
struck out five, gave up only seven hits,
walked none and gave up only one earned
run to pick up the victory for the
Wildcats who had to defeat their arch
rival the Nevada Outlaws to get to the
finals of the week ten championship. The
top of the order for Nevada did most of
the damage to 10th seeded Full Package's
pitching with lead off man and right
fielder, Zane Korth, going 2 for 3 and
scoring two runs; second batter and
centerfielder, John Sewald, one for three
and two runs batted in; third batter and
first baseman, Joey Gallo, scored three
runs, hit two home runs and added three
runs batted in and cleanup batter and
third baseman, Alec Hutt, scored one run,
homered and added three runs batted in.
The top four batters accounted for six
hits, six runs, three home runs and eight
runs batted in. Other batters that got
hits for the Wildcats included: Chris
Johnson, Jordan Mason and Chris Blake. To
get to the championship for week ten the
Nevada Wildcats earned the 17th seed for
tournament play by going 6-1 and allowing
3.14 runs per game in regular game action.
When the tournament play on Wednesday
started the Wildcats edged the 48th seeded
South Jersey Mustangs of New Jersey 4-2
and then beat the 16th seeded Holly City
Hornets of New Jersey 18-1. In the "Sweet
16" play for Thursday morning the Wildcats
beat the top seeded team, the Upper Deck
Baseball Club of Virginia, 7-4. The "Elite
8" competition found the Nevada team
shutting out the 8th seeded Bainbridge
Hurricanes of Washington 19-0. It was in
the "Semi-Finals" where the Wildcats had
to face their arch rival, the Nevada
Outlaws, and beat them 14-9 to advance to
the championship against Full Package of
Illinois. The pitching performance of
Kenny Oakley kept Full Package hitters off
stride all night long and he was able to
pitch out of several jams. All seven hits
by Full Package players were singles with
shortstop, Mike Stramich, driving in
second baseman Kevin Egan during the third
inning when Full Package scored their only
run. The Wildcats got on the board first
with the three run blast in the first
inning, accounted for two more in the
third and then the big inning, the fourth,
when they scored four runs with the help
of Gallo's second home run, to put the
contest out of range on the way to the

Week
#6 July 22-28, 2006
Hit After Hit
Baseball Academy Club Way to
Championship at Cooperstown Dreams
Park
A strong offensive
performance backed up by an excellent
pitching performance from Brandon Compton
helped the #6 seeded Hit After Hit
Baseball Academy of Nashville, Tennessee
defeat the #5 seeded West Pines Cobras of
Pembroke Pines, Florida for the week #6
Cooperstown Dreams Park title 13-1. Hit
after Hit Baseball Academy, managed by
Chris Mercado, finished the regular
tournament 6-1 with 2.43 average runs
against and earned the six seed. Hit after
Hit Baseball Academy scored at least one
run in each of the five innings while only
limiting the Cobras to one run in the
fourth inning. Leading 2-0 after the
second inning, Hit after Hit Baseball
Academy outscored the Cobras 11-1 in the
last three innings of the game. Zack
Jenkins had the first hit of the game as
he lined a ground rule double that bounced
over the right field. They scored another
run in the second but scored 5 in the
third, 3 in the fourth, and 3 in the fifth
inning. Hit after Hit Baseball Academy had
3 homeruns, 15 hits, and 9 RBI's in the
game while the Cobras could only muster
one hit the entire game. Mike Walker, Zack
Jenkins, and Brandon Compton each had a
homerun for the Hit after Hit Baseball
Academy. As the Hit after Hit Baseball
Academy continued to dominate on the
offensive side, P Brandon Compton wouldn't
allow a miracle to happen from West Pines.
He kept the Cobras in check the whole game
as he only allowed one hit, which resulted
in no homeruns, runs, or RBI's. He pitched
the whole game and showed what a great
pitcher he is. The Hit after Hit Baseball
Academy were led by RF Mike Walker who was
3-3 with two homeruns. 3B Zack Jenkins
went 3-4 with one homerun, a double, and
two runs batted in. P Brandon Compton went
3-4 with one homerun to go along with his
great pitching game. CF Austin Clements
and LF Kyler Fleet each had two hits while
1B Parker Cantrell and C Matt Barrett had
one hit each. The West Pines Cobras,
managed by Mike Franzen, was led by SS
Taylor Gushue who was 1-3. He was the only
player on the Cobras to have a hit as the
team couldn't figure out a way to deal
with Hit after Hit Baseball Academy's P
Brandon Compton. Starting Hit after Hit
Baseball Academy's pitcher, Brandon
Compton, went five strong innings facing
seventeen batters, striking out nine,
giving up only one hit, walking four, and
didn't give up any earned runs. For the
West Pines Cobras, Billy Golding pitched
2.3 innings facing 13 batters, striking
out two, walking one, giving up seven
hits, six runs, and six earned runs. Dylan
Segula, Kyle Schmidt, David Thompson, and
Kevin Fenster relieved Golding of his
pitching duties for the game. Hit after
Hit Baseball Academy came in as the
underdog but showed why it doesn't matter
what number you are as long as you can
play the game of baseball.

North defeated the seventh seed Viper
Baseball Academy (Huntsville, Alabama),
8-0, in the Thursday night, June 22,
contest. San Diego, which finished the
regular tournament 7-0 with .86 average
runs against, had an explosive first
inning and never looked back. After the
Vipers flew out twice and struck out once,
San Diego showed the poise of a five time
Cooperstown Dreams Park champion. With a
mixture of errors and walks by the Vipers,
plus some hitting by San Diego, the Stars
managed seven runs. Ramsey Romano started
it off with a single and then a Jordan

out, C.J. Chew doubled in two runs and
eventually scored. Romano had another turn
and hit another single. The combination of
errors, walks, and hits died after Romano
flew out and another batter struck out.
Viper Academy held San Diego to seven hits
but could only muster two hits of their
own. After the first inning was over,
there wasn't much offensive displayed from
