Berg hit a solo shot to left field giving
the All Stars one run after four complete
innings. In the bottom of the 5th inning,

It was the last chance for Eastern
Massachusetts. With one out,
centerfielder, Seve Tocci, was hit by a
pitch and the fireworks erupted as Chris
Lanzilli connected, on a 2-1 count, that
provided the walk-off homerun to straight
away centerfield to complete the come from
behind victory for the #6 seed Eastern
Massachusetts All Stars and their

Vegas Warriors Red of Nevada 8-7 by
scoring seven runs in the fifth inning.
Four of those runs came on back - to back
- to back home runs. Both teams finished
with seven hits each and a combined total

The Las Vegas Warriors Red, managed by
Jeff Smith, looked like they were cruising
to the Week #10 championship until they
ran into the home run barrage by Hard 90

turned the ball over to the fast ball
throwing Chandler Smith who was greeted by
the hungry bats of the Hard 90. A two-run
homer by centerfielder Kyle Yamada was
followed by a back-to-back shot by first
baseman George Lizarraga's and then the
back- to back - to back spectacular by
left fielder Tyler Malone. All of a sudden
it was 7-5 before Josef Morris reached
base on a walk followed by a single to
right field from Andrew Cisneros. The
fourth home run of the inning and the game
winner was about to leave the park as Niko
Domingo hammered reliever Ryan Mash's fast
ball over the wall for the 8-7 lead. Hard

top of the sixth inning without allowing
any runs and securing the championship for
week #10 at Cooperstown Dreams Park.
Cameron Eden started on the mound for Hard
90 and was relieved by Andrew Cisneros in

George Lizarraga who got the save with a
one inning gem in the sixth.

Week #1 Champions - Beyel Brothers
Bulldogs (Florida)
Manager: Jim Vaughan
|

Week #1
June 5 - 11, 2010
Bulldogs
Go Undefeated in Championship Win
The 2010
championship season at Cooperstown Dreams
Park kicked off with a featured contest
between the seventh- seeded Beyel Brothers
Bulldogs from Rockledge, Florida, and the
fifth-seed Deer Park Express from Deer
Park, Texas. The Beyel Brothers Bulldogs,
managed by Jim Vaughan, claimed the title
with a 12-0 shutout victory in five
innings of play.
The game went scoreless through the first
three innings behind the starters Chad
Sanders for the Deer Park Express and Mike
Pineda of the Bulldogs. In the top of the
fourth, after a defensive gem by Deer Park
third baseman, Rey Fuentes, the Bulldogs'
came alive with back-to-back singles by
Louis Curbelo and Carlos Cortes. They
advanced to second and third respectively
and then a perfect squeeze bunt, just past
the pitcher, by starting right fielder
Sebastian Samuels allowed Curbelo and
Cortes to score the first runs of the
game. Those runs would prove to be enough
to secure the victory for the Florida
team. From small ball to start it was
power to finish the contest!
Hard hit home runs for the Beyel Brothers
dominated the rest of the game as they hit
a total of six home runs. Austin Thompson
led the way with two, Mike Pineda, the
starting pitcher, had a solo shot, Mike
Rivera hit a solo shot, Kyle Panagiotov
hammered a two-run home run to center and

For Mike Pineda the starter and winning
pitcher for Beyel Brothers it was a superb
performance as he struck out nine batters
while allowing only two hits, two base on
balls and game up no earned runs. Blake
Beyel came on to get the last out of the
game.
The Deer Park Express, managed by David
Dahnke, was a returning team this season,
finishing 34th out of 102 teams as
eleven-year olds in 2009. Their goal at
the end of the tournament last season was
set to return to Cooperstown Dreams Park
in 2010 and make it to the prestigious
championship game, which they accomplished
with great achievement!
The Beyel Brothers Bulldogs goal at the
beginning of the week was to improve
player development to make a run at
Cooperstown Dreams Park and they did just
that. Hitting 36 home runs as a team
throughout the week and adding six more at
the championship game the Bulldogs proved
to be both offensively and defensively a
very strong squad.
