Kevin Huerter

Kevin Huerter played twice at Cooperstown Dreams Park with the Clifton Park Knights (NY). The first was week 3 in 2009 and the second was week 4 in 2011. During his second week, Kevin and the Knights reached the championship game where they fell to the East Cobb Titans (GA), 5-2. Kevin hit the first pitch of the championship game over the fence for a home run.

 

Kevin graduated from Shenendehowa Central High School (Clifton Park, NY) where he led his basketball team to its first state title since 1987 in 2015 (junior year) and was named NYSPHSAA Championship Most Valuable Player. His basketball accolades also included New York state "Mr. Basketball" and New York Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior (2016), second team all-state selection and 2015 Suburban Council Player of the Year as a junior (2015), Saratogian Player of the Year (2014-15), First-team Saratogian all-star as a sophomore (2014), NewsChannel 13 high school basketball all-star during his sophomore and junior seasons (2014, 2015), and a top-10 Capital Region boys high school basketball player. Kevin played with the AAU program Albany City Rocks in summer of 2015, leading the team to the Nike Peach Jam Tournament. Kevin also won a gold medal as a member of the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championships.

 

Kevin went on to attend and play basketball at the University of Maryland (College Park, MD). During his sophomore season (2017-2018), he earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention and Big Ten All-Academic honors. During the 2018 National Basketball Association draft, Kevin was chosen in the first round by the Atlanta Hawks.
