Peter Fatse

Peter Fatse competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 1999 and 2000 with the Hampden Dodgers (MA); each year was during week 5. Peter is a graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School (Wilbraham, MA) where he was a three-year baseball letter winner as a second baseman and shortstop. During his sophomore year, he hit .446 with three home runs and 20 RBI, hitting a walk-off home run that sent his team to the league playoffs for the first time in three years. During his junior year, Peter posted a .426 batting average and a .505 on base percentage. His senior year included helping guide the Falcons to a 16-4 overall record and a Valley Wheel League championship, recording a .527 BA with 11 doubles, three triples, six home runs and 24 RBI while boasting a .595 on base percentage and owning a 1.014 slugging percentage. Peter was named an All-Western Mass Region First Team selection and to the All-League First Team in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He was selected as team captain and was the 2006 team MVP as well as named the Falcons' Offensive Player of the Year. Peter’s other accolades include the 2006 WMASS Springfield Republican Player of the Year, a Massachusetts State All-Star and was selected to play against the Connecticut State All-Stars. Peter started for the west team in the Bay State Games as an infielder in 2004 and 2005. In addition to baseball, Peter also lettered twice in hockey and was an All-League and All-Region First Team selection in 2005, serving as the assistant captain in 2005 and captain in 2006. Peter was a 2005 high school Region Player of the Year finalist.

Peter continued his education and baseball career at University of Connecticut (Storrs, CT). During his freshman season (2007), Peter led team in multiple categories; runs scored (40), sacrifice flies (five) and hit by pitch (15). He tied for team lead in stolen bases (seven), started 54 of the 55 games he appeared in, registered 56 hits, 30 RBI, 40 runs scored and a .268 BA. Peter also had 13 doubles, one triple, and four home runs on the season.

Peter earned a spot on the University Division roster for the 2008 NEIBA New England College Baseball All-Star Game after his sophomore season (2008). He started in 53 games of UConn's 55 played, batted .289 with 58 hits and 35 runs scored, recorded nine doubles, two triples and eight homeruns, had a team second-best 47 RBIs, 19 stolen bases in 19 attempts, and had 201 at-bats. Peter completed his junior season (2009) with a .324 BA, 18 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs, 54 RBI, and 17 stolen bases.

After his junior season at University of Connecticut, Peter was selected in the 24th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft, 736th overall, by the Milwaukee Brewers. He made the jump to the professionals, playing rookie ball for Helena Brewers (Helena, MT), in the Pioneer League. He played four games before being promoted to Class A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Appleton, WI). Peter remained with Wisconsin for the first half of the 2010 season then moved to Class A+ Brevard County Manatees (Melbourne, FL) for the second half. He spent 2011 and 2012 with the Class Independent teams Pittsfield Colonials (Pittsfield, MA) and Florence Freedom (Florence, KY), respectively.
