Chris Lubanski
attended Cooperstown Dreams Park with his
team Lederach Lugnuts (PA) in 1996 and
again in 1997. He also came to the park
with the Boys of Baseball National Travel
Team (AL) in 1997. He remembers playing
with his baseball buddies from home with
the GREAT Lederach Lugnuts! When he played
with the Boys of Baseball, they made it to
the championship game. While at
Cooperstown Dreams Park, he made some of
his best baseball memories ever.
Chris is a 2003 graduate of
Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School
(Norristown, PA). He was a four-time
varsity letterman. During his senior year,
Chris batted .528 with six home runs.
Chris has the honor of having an award
named after him, the Chris Lubanski Blue
& Gold Award, and was the first
recipient of this award. He was a two-time
league MVP and All City and All Area
Player of the Year. He was named 2002-2003
Gatorade National High School Baseball
Player of the Year.
In addition to his high school career,
Chris competed at the world youth baseball
championship with Team USA's national
junior team. In 2001, he won gold with the
16U team and bronze in 2002 with the 18U
squad.
Prior to graduation from high school,
Chris signed a letter of intent to play
baseball at Florida State University
(Tallahassee, FL). However, Chris was a
2003 first round draft pick for the Kansas
City Royals, chosen 5th overall. Chris
opted not to play in college and made the
leap to a professional career.
Chris played for the Arizona Royals in
2003, recording a .326 BA as a rookie and
was named Arizona League Top Prospect. He
was Player of the Year for the Burlington
Bees (Class A) and for the High Desert
Mavericks (High Class A) in 2004. He
earned the honor of being the Mid-West
League All-Star. While playing for Wichita
Wranglers in 2006, Chris led the Texas
League (Double A) in triples and walks.
Chris spent the 2009 season with AAA
Omaha, batting .227 with a .313 on base
percentage and recorded seven stolen bases
in just 36 games. Chris is currently
(2010) playing for the Las Vegas 51s, AAA
