Brad Johnson first
attended Cooperstown Dreams Park as a
player in 2001 with the Skokie Indians
(IL) during week 9. He later returned as
head coach of the Glencoe Blue Thunder
(IL) during week 2 in 2009. In addition to
competing as a player and a coach, Brad
made two more trips to Cooperstown Dreams
Park to watch his brother play.
As a player, Brad was a participant in the
Golden Arm competition. He has great
memories of his times at Cooperstown
Dreams Park. After returning home from his
recent coaching experience, he wore his
coach's bracelet for months after.
Brad graduated cum laude from Glenbrook
South High School (Glenview, IL). At
Glenbrook, Brad was on the baseball and
football teams. He received many awards
during high school: Most Improved Player
for baseball, Principal's Award for
Outstanding P.E. Leader, Football Peer
Mentor, and Football Huddle Group Leader.
He was also a member of the National Honor
Society.
After high school, Brad attended and
graduated from Syracuse University
(Syracuse, NY). His activities at Syracuse
included intramural captain for softball,
football and basketball, Students in Free
Enterprise (SIPE), and a soup kitchen
volunteer in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Brad received the Chancellor's
Scholarship, an academic award, and was on
the Dean's List.
Brad's success has carried over into his
professional career. He spent eight years
as a basketball camp counselor, three
years as a head travel baseball coach, and
currently is a Business/Financial analyst
for Fromm International.
