Hayden Smith and the Roanoke Badgers (VA) competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park during Week 3 in 2007. Hayden helped the Badgers to a 12th seed and advanced to the Sweet 16.

Hayden was a member of the varsity baseball team at Hidden Valley High School (Roanoke, VA). He was selected to the All-District 1st Team, All-Region 2nd Team, and was co-captain of the squad. Hayden was a Virginia American Legion scholarship winner in 2012 and Roanoke Post 3 Durham American Legion scholarship recipient in 2013. In addition to baseball, Hayden participated on the Academic Team at Hidden Valley High School.

After graduating high school, Hayden went on to further his education and baseball career at Allegheny College (Meadville, PA). He's a Trustee Scholarship winner and made the Dean's List.
