Rod Schmidt competed
at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2007 during
N.A.T.C. as a member of the Blue Wave
(CA). He finished the week with a .680 BA,
5 home runs, including back-to-back 3-run
home runs, and 21 RBI.
Rod's high school baseball career at
Edison High School (Huntington Beach, CA)
started off on a high note when he was
named MVP of his freshman team (2009). As
a member of the 2011 varsity team, Rod,
who is a right-handed pitcher, played on
the top-rated high school baseball team in
the U.S., according to ESPN Rise, Baseball
America and Max Preps. The squad finished
the season 25-4, clinching its third
straight Sunset League championship.
In 2011, Rod was selected to play for the
18-under National Team at the Goodwill
Series in Australia. He signed a letter of
intent on November 9, 2011, to attend and
play baseball at Northwest Missouri State
University (Maryville, MO).
