With an outstanding 6-3 record, the 12U Hornets clinched a spot in the Elite Eight, amidst 86 other talented teams, from July 15-20.
Standout players included Luke Hundley, who secured a .679 average with three home runs; Braxton Campbell, with a batting average of .500 and six home runs; Mason Lirette, the dependable catcher with three home runs and a batting average of .440; and Jack Palacios, who achieved a .591 average. Seven Hornets hit home runs during the event.
Coach Mierkowicz expressed his pride, stating, "Reaching the Elite Eight out of 86 teams is a Saline first, truly the icing on the cake." Sebastian Polidano, Saline's lead pitcher, was key in these successes. On defense, the Hornets stood firm, only averaging one error per game.
