Christopher "Cito"
Culver holds the Cooperstown Dreams Park
record for most games played in during a
season (66), which he set in 2005. In
addition to 2005, Cito competed between
the years of 2002 to 2004.
In 2002, Cito played with the 10U Diamond
Indoor Sports (OH) during week 1. He
participated twice in 2003, during week 1
with the 10U Diamond Sports Saints (OH)
and week 5 with the 12U Greece Stampede
(NY). He returned in 2004 with the
Rochester Diamond Dawgs (NY) and the Say
Hey Kids (CA), weeks 4 and 11 (N.A.T.C.),
respectively. Cito played on eight teams
during the 2005 season - Colorado Mudcats
(CO) (week 2), Charlotte Bulldogs (NC)
(week 3), NC Stix (NC) (week 4), Rochester
Diamond Dawgs (NY) (week 5), Central New
York Pioneers American (NY) (week 6),
Carolina Ironclads (NC) (week 7), Rome Jr.
Indians (NY) (week 8), Team Rawlings (MO)
(N.A.T.C.).
Cito's high school career took place at
West Irondequoit High School (Irondequoit,
NY) where he was named MVP of his baseball
team three seasons in a row (2008-2010).
During his senior year (2010), Cito batted
.561 with 10 doubles, five triples, nine
home runs and 38 RBI in 22 games.
Although Cito committed to play baseball
for the University of Maryland (College
Park, MD) prior to the completion of his
senior year, he made the decision to make
the jump to the professionals. During the
2010 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft,
Cito was a first round draft pick, 32nd
overall, selected by the New York Yankees.
He spent part of the 2010 season at the
rookie level with the Gulf Coast League
Yankees in Florida where he batted .269 in
41 games. Cito moved to Class A Staten
Island Yankees (Staten Island, NY),
playing 15 games with Staten Island. Cito
continues to play for the Staten Island
Yankees.
