Cal Stevenson

Cal Stevenson competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park with three different teams. The first was Tournament 1 in 2006 with the VYAA Bombers (CA), the team reached the Elite 8. His next trip was Tournament 2 in 2007 with TSB Baseball (CA), clinching the top seed after pool play and reaching the Championship Game, falling to third-seeded Chattanooga Chiefs (GA), 10-3. Cal’s final appearance was in 2009 with TABU (CA) during Tournament 4, making it to the title game as the third seed, losing 4-3 to top-seeded Team Rattlers (TX).

Cal graduated from John F. Kennedy High School (Fremont, CA) where he was a four-year letter winner on the diamond, winning three consecutive Mission Valley Athletic League championships. His accolades included All-MVAL team as an outfielder in 2012 and 2013, all-league selections as a utility player in 2014 and MVAL player of the year award in 2014. After high school, Cal continued his education and baseball career at University of Nevada, Reno (Reno, NV) earning 2015 Mountain West co-Freshman of the Year honors.

Cal’s collegiate sophomore year was at Chabot College (Hayward, CA), earning First-Team California Community College Athletics Association honors. His last two seasons were spent at University of Arizona (Tucson, AZ). During the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, Cal was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays. On July 31, 2019, he was traded to the Houston Astros and then to Tampa Bay Rays in early January of 2020. Cal’s next team was the Oakland Athletics in July of 2022 where he made is Major League debut on August 10, 2022.

Cal had a short stint with the San Francisco Giants in April of 2023 before heading to the Philadelphia Phillies on May 26, 2023.
