Chris Sale

Chris Sale was a 2001 participant at Cooperstown Dreams Park with the Auburndale Storm (FL) during Tournament 6. He led his team to an Elite 8 appearance in the tournament.

Chris, a left-handed pitcher, graduated from Lakeland High School (Lakeland, FL) in 2007. He was selected as a 21st round draft selection by the Colorado Rockies. Instead of making the jump to the professionals, Chris attended Florida Golf Coast University (Fort Myers, FL). He was chosen to the Freshman All A-Sun team, named A-Sun player of the week and earned All-Atlantic First Team honors his sophomore year, and during his junior year he earned BFC Outstanding Pitcher Award for the 2009 Cape Cod Baseball League Season, named top prospect in Cape Cod League by Baseball America and earned Louisville Slugger Preseason Second Team All-American honors selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

After his junior collegiate season, Chris made the decision to turn professional when he was selected by the Chicago White Sox as the 13th first-round pick of Major League Baseball's amateur draft. Chris made his Major League debut on August 6, 2010.

Prior to the 2017 season, Chris was traded to the Boston Red Sox. He was named the American League's starting pitcher at the 2017 All-Star Game for the second consecutive season. In 2018, Chris and Boston Red Sox won the World Series, closing out the final inning, including a series-ending strikeout.

After 7 seasons with the Red Sox, Chris was traded to the Atlanta Braves in December of 2023. On August 27, 2026, Chris pitched his first complete game since 2019, recording the win.
