Kyle Williams
competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park during
week 1 in 2000 with the McHenry County
Generals (IL). Kyle's fondest memory was
during the single-elimination part of the
tournament. His team was the 31st seed and
advanced to the quarterfinals, losing to
eventual champions San Diego Stars North
(CA), 12-7. The seven runs scored was the
most any team had scored against the Stars
all week.
Kyle graduated from Cary-Grove High School
(Cary, IL). As a member of the baseball
team, Kyle was named All Area and
All-Conference and team MVP during his
senior year. The starting second baseman
since his sophomore year, Kyle racked up
remarkable stats his senior year such as
.395 BA (15 doubles, 4 home runs), 25 RBI,
34 runs, and 12 steals on 12 attempts. His
fielding statistics included 6 errors in
131 chances with 86 assists for a fielding
percentage of .956.
Kyle now attends Millikin University
(Decauter, IL) on a Presidential
Scholarship. As a freshman on the baseball
team, he started every game, hitting .285
with 25 RBI and 2 home runs.
