Anthony Rizzo

Anthony Rizzo competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park with the Bombers (FL) during Week 2 in 2002.

Anthony graduated from Marojory Stoneman Douglas High School (Parkland, FL) where he excelled on the diamond as the team’s first baseman. He committed to attend and play baseball at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, FL) but opted to make the leap to professional baseball when he was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the sixth round of the 2007 Major League Baesball draft.

After the 2010 season, Anthony was traded to the San Diego Padres. On June 9, 2011, Anthony made his Major League debut. In 2012, Anthony was traded to the Chicago Cubs. As the Cubs’ starting first baseman, Anthony has been named a three-time All Star and was a driving force in the Cubs 2016 World Series championship. During the 2021 season, Anthony was traded to the New York Yankees. He helped the Yankees reach the 2024 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Throughout his professional career, Anthony’s accolades include a three-time All Star (2014-2016), four-time Gold Glove Award (2016, 2018-2020), Platinum Glove Award (2016), Sliver Slugger Award (2016), and Roberto Clemente Award (2017).
