Tyler Matzek and the Brea Crimson Tide (CA) competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park during N.A.T.C. in 2003.

A left handed pitcher, Tyler graduated from Capistrano Valley High School (Mission Viejo, CA) in 2009 where he earned CIF Orange County Player of the Year. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 2009 Major League Baseball amateur draft. Tyler made his major league debut on June 11, 2014.

Tyler bounced around from the Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Arizona Diamondbacks from 2017-2019 after recovering from surgery and other health issues. On August 14, 2019, Tyler’s contract was acquired by the Atlanta Braves. He went on to help the Braves clinch the 2021 World Series against the Houston Astros.
