Billy Burns and the East Side Raiders (GA) competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2002 during Week 4. Billy finished 3rd overall in the Road Runner competition and helped his team secure the 3rd seed and advanced to the semi-finals.
Billy graduated from Walton High School (Marietta, GA) where he earned letters in both baseball and football. He helped his baseball team to a state championship his junior year and state runner-up as a senior. Billy received All-Cobb County team honors as a sophomore and junior, named Cobb County Returner of the Year in football and was recognized as the Boys Scholar Athlete of the Year for Cobb County his senior year.
Billy was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 16th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft, however, he opted to attend college and play baseball at Mercer University (Savannah, GA). After three successful collegiate seasons, Billy was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 32nd round of the 2011 draft. In 2013, he was named Washington's Minor League Player of the Year. He has since played in the Oakland Athletics’, Kansas City Royals’ and New York Yankees’ organizations.
