Daniel Hudson competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 1999 during Tournament 3 with the Virginia Aces (VA). He helped his team to a 6-1 record securing the 6th seed heading into the single-elimination tournament.
Daniel graduated from Princess Anne High School (Virginia Beach, VA) where played baseball. His accolades from the diamond include First Team All-Beach District at pitcher and at first base, was the 2005 Beach District Player of the Year, and First Team All-State at pitcher and at first base, leading his team to a state championship in 2005.
Daniel committed to and then attended Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA) where he pitched for three years. During the 2008 Major League Baseball Amateur draft, he was selected by the Chicago White Sox. Daniel made his major league debut on September 4, 2009.
Daniel was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks during the 2010 season, then the Pittsburgh Pirates in December of 2016. He went to the Los Angeles Dodgers prior to the 2019 season and then found himself with the Washington Nationals in July of 2019, going on to win the 2019 World Series. After two years with the Nationals, Daniel went to the San Diego Padres for a couple months in 2021 before signing again with the Dodgers in November. Daniel went on to win a second World Series when the Dodgers clinched the 2024 title. Once the series ended, he announced his retirement from professional baseball.
