Preston Grand Pre competed at Cooperstown Dreams park with the ASD Bulldogs (CA) during Week 12 in 2008. Preston helped his team to a 7-0 pool play record en route to advancing to the semi-finals of single-elimination tournament. He hit a home run in the team’s first round single-elimination game.

Preston graduated from Laguna Beach High School (Laguna Beach, CA). He continued his baseball career in high school, as a three-year starting shortstop. He earned first-team all-league as a junior, hitting .347 with eight doubles, three triples, 18 RBI and 13 stolen bases. In addition to his varsity squad, Preston was part of the of the 2012-13 Tampa Bay Rays Scout Team, the 2013 Angels Elite Scout Team, and a member of the Urban Youth Academy 2013 Scout Ball All-Star Team.

Preston continued his education at the University of California, Berkley (Berkley, CA) where he was an infielder for the baseball team. After three collegiate seasons, Preston was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.
