Kevin Abel played at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2010 with the Buffalo Wings (NY) during Week 12. He hit the game-tying 3-run home run with two outs in a playoff game to lift his team into extra innings, en route to victory after 10 innings. Kevin returned as an assistant coach with the Great Lakes Gators (NY) during Week 11 in 2016.

Kevin attended Amherst Central School (Amherst, NY) where he was a member of the varsity baseball and wrestling teams.
