Tyler Kendall and the West Boynton Gators (FL) competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park during Week 2 in 2006. Tyler and the Gators won the weekly championship, defeating the Lakeland Rawlings Renegades (FL), 12-0.

Tyler was a four-year starter for his high school baseball team at Park Vista High School (Lake Worth, FL). An infielder, Tyler posted a .389 BA with 20 RBI and 12 doubles his senior year (2012). Tyler's accolades his senior year include Palm Beach All-County first team and Class 8A All-State honors from the Florida Athletic Coaches' Association. He also competed in the annual FACA Baseball All-Star Classic games.

Following his high school graduation, Tyler attended Penn State University (University Park, PA) where he was a member of the baseball team.
