Joe Guntz

During week 1 in 1996, Joe Guntz was a member of one of the first teams to compete at Cooperstown Dreams Park, the So Cal Black Sox (CA). Joe returned to Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2010, week 5, as an assistant coach of the Santa Clarita Mudcats (CA).

Joe continued to play baseball throughout high school and college. A 2002 graduate of Chatsworth High School (Chatsworth, CA), Joe was a pitcher who received such accolades as a three-time member of the All-City team, All-City Pitcher of the Year as a junior, an All-State pitcher, and a member of the All-American second team. He also ranks third all-time in the state for consecutive victories with 31 (1999-2002).

Joe's collegiate career consists of playing at Lewis-Clark State College (Lewiston, ID) and Sacramento State (Sacramento, CA). While playing for Lewis-Clark State College, Joe was a member of the 2006 and 2007 teams that won the Avista NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) World Series title.

In addition to his assistant coaching the Mudcats, Joe has been a member of Chatsworth High School's baseball coaching staff since 2009.
