Steve Hunt attended Cooperstown Dreams Park with the West Hartford CT All Stars (CT) in 1996 and 1997 when he was 11 and 12 years old, respectively. He returned to Cooperstown Dreams Park during Week 9 in 2006 as a coach for the Beantown Bombers (CT). Steve said, "Cooperstown Creams Park is my favorite park in the WORLD!"

Steve graduated from Conard High School (West Hartford, CT) where he played ice hockey and baseball. Steve was a defenseman on the varsity ice hockey team. The team was the 2000 CCC West Division Champions. Steve won the "Hard Hat" Award in 2001 and 2002. Steve played second base and catcher for the varsity baseball team. In 2002, the team won the All Conference title and became the CCC West Conference Champions. Steve received the "Two Sport Athlete - Four Year" award for ice hockey and baseball.

Steve continued his baseball career at Springfield College (Springfield, MA). Listed on the 2005 and 2006 rosters as an infielder, Steve received the "Three Year Participation" Award and a four-year "Varsity Blanket" Award. He graduated in May of 2007 with degree in Recreating Management and a minor in Business.
