Brett Lashley as a member of the 2006 West Boyton Gators (FL) youth baseball team. Lashley and the Gators clinched the Week 2 Cooperstown Dreams Park championship in 2006, defeating the Lakeland Rawlings Renegades (FL), 12-0.

Brett graduated from Park Vista High School (Lake Worth, FL) where he was a member of the baseball team. The infielder was a 2nd team Palm Beach County All-county selection during his senior year (2012). Following his high school graduation, Brett attended and played baseball at Palm Beach State College (Lake Worth, FL).
